A TEENAGE girl is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car.

At 7.46pm on Monday, November 13, police were called to reports of a collision on Kingsway, Widnes.

Officers attended the scene and found that a 17-year-old female had been involved in a collision with a grey Vauxhall Insignia.

The incident occurred near to a zebra crossing outside Riverside College.

The teenage girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains at the current time.

Inspector Steve Griffiths, of Cheshire Police’s Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Enquiries in relation to this collision have been ongoing, and we are committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place.

“As part of our investigation, we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they may have witnessed the collision.

”The same goes for any video footage of the incident.

“I would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to get in touch.”
