A DRVING instructor hurled horrific abuse at an 83-year-old and threw her glasses on the floor after a spat over parking at an off-licence in Runcorn.
Emma Sartorius-Jones, leapt out of her parked car at Ascot Stores when she noticed the pensioner was reversing into her vehicle and began yelling expletive language before approaching the vehicle.
Prosecuting, Andrew Madden said the incident took place on July 29.
He told Warrington Magistrates’ Court that the defendant’s husband was putting their baby in the car seat when the complainant’s car began reversing a few inches back towards their vehicle.
This triggered a reaction from Jones who after leaping out of the car then began opening and slamming closed the victim’s car door repeatedly.
The final time she opened the door she grabbed the victim’s glasses and threw them on the floor, causing the lenses to pop out of the frame.
The 32-year-old also tried to grab the car keys from the lady to prevent her from driving any further.
“She is a lady of good character,” Mr Madden added.
Jones, Sonoran Close, Runcorn, pleaded guilty to charges of assault by beating, criminal damage and using threatening and abusive words.
During the hearing she raised issues to probation about the pre-sentence report and inaccuracies.
Jones stated that the old woman pushed past her husband in the car park while he was trying to safely put her child into the car seat and added that her husband is blind.
The case has now been adjourned until November 21 while a new pre-sentence report is completed.
