A RUNCORN TAKEAWAY has been handed a woeful hygiene rating, with their food deemed ‘unsafe’ in a recent inspection.
Sammy’s in Runcorn was handed out an atrocious hygiene rating last month in a newly released report by the Food Standards Agency.
The Halton pizza place on Church Street received a one out of five, meaning the takeaway will have to make improvements or face closure.
The Food Standards Agency, who carry out inspections of food hygiene, gave the rating in large part due to the establishment’s incredibly poor ‘Management of food safety’.
Sammy’s received ‘Major improvement necessary’ in this area, as well as being told their ‘Hygienic food handling’ also required improvement.
The takeaway pizza place, however, was told their cleanliness was ‘generally satisfactory’ in the inspection.
All information was accurate at the time of publication.
