A NEW Widnes pet store is set to host a bizarre launch by ‘marrying’ an owner to their pet.
In a weird UK-first, Jollyes will open their new Widnes store by having a competition ‘winner’ ‘married’ to their pet.
At 10.00am on Saturday, September 30, Jollyes are set to open a new store at Widnes Shopping park.
The competition ‘winner’ will be ‘married’ to their pet in a “full-works ceremony at the opening”.
This will feature an organist, red carpet, flowers, and the exchange of rubber rings, with Jollyes saying ‘a Widnes owner and their beloved pet can bound or walk down the aisle to the sound of ‘here barks the bride’.
The winning ‘couple’ will then be treated to a ‘doggie-moon’ holiday by Jollyes.
There will also be 100 goodie bags for the first 100 ‘wedding’ guests’ with a mixture of cat and dog products inside.
Entries can be made at the store’s page online with the winner chosen on the day.
“We’re already working hard getting the store ready for opening at the end of the month.” said Jollyes regional manager Sarah Farrar.
“I know Lyndsey Fearns (store manager) and her team of 12 can’t wait to bring the kind of value and service that’s already available at our nearby stores in Runcorn, St Helens, Eccles, and Warrington to Widnes.”
