RUNCORN Fire Station is opening its doors to the public for a family event that promises to be enjoyable for all.
A free open day will take place on Saturday August 26 at the station on Heath Road from 10am until 4pm.
Firefighters will be putting on displays throughout the day, including a road traffic collision where specialist cutting equipment will be used, a special rope rescue demonstration and also a live demonstration from our kitchen safety vehicle involving a chip pan fire.
Alongside the demonstrations, a range of modern and vintage fire engines will be on site for visitors to have a look around.
Watch Manager Ben Sanderson said: "This event will be a great way for the community to learn more about their local fire station and meet the people that staff it. It promises to be a great day out to all that attend.
"We would love as many people as possible to come along to the open day, have a great time and leave with some vital fire safety messages."
Food will be available to purchase along with ice cream and slushies from The Fire Fighters Charity stand and the Aladdin's Entertainment team will be on hand where face painting will also be available.
The event will also see demonstrations from Runcorn's cadet unit, showing that fire safety is important to all ages.
For more information about this free event please call the station on 01928 572811.
