A GROUP of volunteers from the congregation of Holy Trinity Church in Runcorn have started going out regularly to clean up the parish.
Concern has been raised by the growing number of unsightly areas which blight the community.
The first litter pick took place along the bus way and around the bus stops from Irwell Lane to Mason Street on the May Day bank holiday.
Six members of the church went out again on Thursday, including two Iranian refugee members of the church, and collected another dozen bags of litter from the bushes and verge alongside The Decks.
They plan to clean up other areas around the church in the coming weeks.
