FINAL Rehearsals are underway as a theatre company prepares to stage an iconic West End and Broadway musical in Runcorn.
Wirral-based D&S Productions are set to stage the much-loved musical RENT at The Brindley from Wednesday, May 10 to Saturday, May 13 at 7.30pm.
A Matinee performance will also be staged at 2.30pm on Saturday, May 13.
With music and lyrics by the late Jonathan Larson, RENT first opened on Broadway in 1996 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon.
The musical tells the story of a group of young artists living in New York City's East Village in the late 1980s, struggling to pursue their dreams while navigating the challenges of poverty, AIDS, and social injustice.
With its powerful and emotionally charged rock and roll-infused score, RENT explores themes of love, friendship, and the human spirit in the face of adversity.
Speaking about staging RENT, the show's director, Donna Dale, Chair of D&S Productions said: "We are so excited to bring this iconic musical to the stage.
"Jonathan Larson's RENT continues to resonate with audiences around the world, and we are honoured to be able to share this powerful story with our community."
Craig Price, the show's Musical Director added: "The score of RENT is truly a work of art, and it is a joy to work with such talented musicians and actors to bring this production to life.
"We are confident that audiences will be moved by the music, the story, and the powerful performances of our cast."
