FOUR HGVs were torched in an arson attack in Runcorn.

Firefighters were called to a large vehicle fire in Aragon Court on Manor Park shortly after 1am this morning, Bank Holiday Monday.

The vehicles were parked outside a commercial property on the industrial estate.

The lorries contained recycled white goods and appliances.

Firefighters used two main jets, two hose reel jets and three sets of breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.”

Two fire engines from Runcorn and one from Widnes attended the incident.
