BURGLARS spotted behaving suspiciously at a Co-op in Widnes had stolen cash from the store.
Police say they were called to the shop on Liverpool Road in Ditton at 11.45pm last night, Wednesday.
A caller reported two men acting suspiciously outside the store.
Both men were described as being of medium build, around 5ft 8ins, both were wearing dark clothing and possibly in possession of a crowbar.
Officers attended and there was no trace of the men.
However, they discovered that there had been a burglary at the store and a small amount of cash had been stolen.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.
DS Lee Connor said: “While our enquiries into this burglary are currently ongoing, I am appealing to anyone who has information to please contact us.
“If you were in the area at the time or have any CCTV or dash cam footage, please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
