A MAN has died following a serious crash in Runcorn which saw an air ambulance called to the scene.
The incident occurred at around 1.20pm on Friday, with police called to the scene on Halton Brow.
It involved a ‘pit bike’, which was being ridden by two men, and a car.
One of the men, a 26-year-old local man, was rushed to Whiston Hospital but died shortly afterwards.
The second, a 23-year-old man, was also taken to hospital, as was the female driver of the car for precautionary checks.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision in Runcorn.
“At around 1.20pm on Friday, September 23, officers were called to Halton Brow following reports of a collision involving a red and white Pit Dirt bike and a black Ford Ecosport.
“The pit bike had two men on it, one of which a 26-year-old local man, who was taken to Whiston Hospital but sadly died a short time later.
“His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“The other man, aged 23, was also taken to Whiston Hospital for further checks. The driver of the car, a woman, was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
