Heath High School celebrated an incredible results day which stood ‘shoulder-to-shoulder with the outcomes achieved in 2019’.
Pupils at the Runcorn school were congratulated on their fantastic results after what has proven to be a tough three years for secondary education, with Heath students achieving more than 130 9s and distinction *s.
Some of the many successful high achievers from the year group include, Megan Voce, Oskar Warren, James Cookson, James Pace, Chloe Bond, Wenlu Lyu, Michael Pretorius and Max McKay.
School head, Mark Tudor, expressed his pride for the ‘effort’ and ‘determination’ shown by all his final year pupils.
He said: “Congratulations to all our year 11 students. While the very top grades will also be the ones that make the headlines, I also want to acknowledge and applaud each and every student for their efforts and determination. The progress across the whole group of students will likely be above the national average, and those students with additional needs are among those who have progressed the most despite all the pandemic related challenges.”
While Heath school’s grades proved steady with pre-pandemic results, this year has shown specific subjects ‘excel beyond expectations’, with History achieving nearly one in five results at grade 8 and 9 and all drama and photography students achieving a minimum of grade 5.
Mr Tudor commented on this development, saying: “While our English and maths results are always strong, the success of all our subjects shows that whatever a young person’s passions are – they will be able to thrive in our school.
“I want to say a huge well done to our students, and a massive thank you to our staff. Their support and guidance, coupled with the talents of the young people at our school, have made the smiles today possible.”
David Donnelly, CEO at The Heath Family (North West) MAT, also added his congratulations to the students.
He said: “These results are so encouraging for the future of The Heath School and mark the end of an impressive 12 months at the school.
“As a Trust, we celebrate all achievements, individual to the students. Every one of our students has put great effort into achieving their outcomes and we are incredibly proud of them.”
