A RUNCORN resident is running a unique, new combination of a barbershop and a coffee shop.
Jack Farrington, who lives in Runcorn, will manage Original Cuts and Coffee in Warrington.
It works as both a coffee shop and a barbershop under the same Sankey Street roof.
“The number of my clients that come in with a coffee in their hand, I thought why not give it ago," said Jack.
“People love coffee and so do I.
“The two marry up really well. They are separate so you can just come in for a coffee and you don't have to do two things together but you can tie them both in.
“Even if you’re just out shopping and fancy a coffee, it is really good coffee and that is one thing we didn’t want to skimp on because what’s the point of trying to be the best that you can barber wise if the coffee isn’t alongside it.
“It’s the best of both worlds.
“Most people who have been in have been back so we are off to a good start and we have to keep going with that.”

The space has been transformed over a period of six months and after a lot of work, it is now fully open.
“We have always talked about doing something different. We saw this place and when we took it all back, the ceiling was dingy, it was dark and the window was covered up," continued Jack.
“It was a bit mad but the space is perfect as it’s the right size for the coffee and the barbers.
“The whole process has been a whirlwind but it has been cool.”

The 28-year-old added: “We wanted to stay local with traders and where the coffee and milk comes from Cheshire.
“There are nods to the original shop in Stockton Heath owned by Adey Lummis too with the dark woods and chairs.
“We wanted two different spaces under the same roof and that is what we have got. We couldn’t have asked for it to look any better than it does.
“We love it.”
