A NEW home care facility has opened in Preston Brook.

Bridgewater Home Care Halton – a domiciliary care business – opened its doors on Tuesday, May 3 at Vale House.

The event, attended by Mayor Christopher Rowe, celebrated the launch of the new business, led by managing directors Vindya Wanninayake and Shehan Fernando of Runcorn.

The home provides essential relationship-focused care and support to vulnerable adults and the elderly across the borough of Halton, with a focus on providing a high-quality service to clients and their family members.

Having identified such a need for the service in the area, Vindya and Shehan began their journey into care by providing home care themselves in their local community to vulnerable adults, experiencing everything there is to know about providing care.

From this, their passion led them to the Bridgewater Home Care Franchise.

As the first franchisees of the Bridgewater Home Care franchise network, Vindya and Shehan have ambitious goals to grow their team by recruiting 50 care specialists as well as a support team from their office at Vale House.

“We are looking for compassionate individuals who want to make a difference, and at the same time are keen to progress their career in the future,” said Vindya.

Bridgewater Home Care prides itself on its training and development programmes, offering team career progression opportunities within the business.

Cllr Rowe said: “I had the great pleasure of officially opening the new office of Bridgewater Home Care Halton in Preston Brook, Runcorn.

“It was nice to meet with Vindya, Shehan and Phil from Bridgewater today and to also meet their families and friends who came along to support them on their opening day. I wish you all the very best of luck for the future.”

Vindya added: “We discussed the growing need for care services for the elderly as there has been a decline of families’ ability to take care of their older and more vulnerable family members.

"The Mayor called the current social care situation as being in a ‘perfect storm’.”
