FIREFIGHTERS have issued guidance to the public following a chimney fire at a house in Runcorn.
A crew from Penketh were called to the scene on Suffolk Street at around 9.15pm on Friday, January 21.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service had received notification of a chimney being on fire at the property.
On arrival, nobody was unaccounted for.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters used a 13.5-metre ladder to access the fire and a hose reel jet to extinguish it.
"They then cooled down the chimney to make it safe.
"A thermal imaging camera was used to look for hotspots and monitor temperatures.
"Firefighters left the house once they were satisfied that it was safe.
"They were in attendance for around 45 minutes."
