A MAN in a van has been ticketed by police after stopping to take a nap on the hard shoulder of the M56.
North West Motorway Police came across the stationery van, which had no lights on, earlier this morning.
He was spotted by police at around 3am on Thursday, November 25, after deciding to tuck himself up for the night.
The man, who was fast asleep, was issued with a ticket by officers and told to carry on his journey.
North West Motorway Police tweeted: "Can anybody see the problem of where this driver was found tucked up for the night in his van, fast asleep, with no lights on?
"This was on the M56, around two miles after passing Chester Services!
"I'm sure the ticket has woke him up sufficiently to continue his journey."
