Rise in new Covid-19 cases recorded in Halton

During the week up to June 25, which is the most recent period for which figures are available, 240 infections were recorded in the borough through lab-reported and rapid lateral flow testing.

This is the equivalent of 185.5 cases per every 100,000 residents, which is the 63rd highest rate in England compared with all other local authority areas.

Moreover, this is a rise of 56 cases compared with the previous week up to June 18, when 184 cases were detected at an infection rate of 142.2.

Halton is among 296 of 315 local areas in England that have seen a rise in case rates (94 per cent), while 18 have seen a fall (six per cent) and one is unchanged.
