THE principal of Sandymoor Ormiston Academy has said she is ‘proud’ of all students as they collected their GCSE results.
Pupils attended the Wharford Lane school this morning, Thursday, to receive their grades, enabling them to embark on the next chapter of their lives.
Students shared their exam success with staff at the end of what has been an unprecedented academic year.
Amelia Garton Pope and Ebonee Davies were delighted with their grades
Some of the individual success stories at the Runcorn academy this year include Jennifer Knowles, who achieved five grade 9s; Amelia Garton Pope, who secured five grade 9s and two Grade 8s; and Ebonee Davies, who attained three grade 9s and two grade 8s.
Other high-flyers were Joseph Connelly, who achieved one grade 9 and five grade 8s, and Daniel Boyle, whose hard work was rewarded with two grade 9s and four grade 8s.
All five students will further their studies at Sir Johns Dean’s Sixth Form College, studying subjects ranging from English Literature and Spanish to Chemistry and Maths.
Sally Jones, principal at Ormiston Sandymoor Academy, said: “We are so pleased to be welcoming our students back to school today as they collect their GCSE results.
Results day will hold happy memories for Jennifer and Francesca
“It has been a challenging year, but we are so proud of the way in which our students have pulled together and remained committed and positive throughout.
“Our school is on a journey, and despite the unique circumstances of this year, we will continue to lead Sandymoor with a clear vision that every pupil is given the best opportunities, regardless of starting points or barriers to learning.
“A huge congratulations to all our GCSE students, who are now embarking on their next steps.”
