WITH temperatures expected to reach holiday temperatures by mid-week, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service are urging people to 'Be Water Aware'.
A spokesperson said: "Please help spread the word about the dangers of cooling off in open water.
"We know it can be tempting but it can also have deadly consequences."
Dangers to open water can include:
The water may look calm on the surface, but there can be strong undercurrents that could pull even a strong swimmer under the water.
It may feel warm on the surface, but just a few feet below can be icy and cold. The cold water can affect stamina and strength of swimmers.
You can follow the #BeWaterAware for more guidance on how to keep safe.
