Our outreach advice and guidance centre based at 3 Alcock Street in the Old Town is going from strength to strength, with more visitors than ever! Runcorn town centre is benefiting from the free services provided at the centre such as: CV writing, drop in, advice and guidance sessions, job-search, internet access and friendly support.
Brenda Inman - Advice & Guidance Worker said "We have made valuable contacts with local businesses and referral agencies since re-opening in the town centre. As always we are working very closely with the local Job Centre's. It has been great to work with so many people in such a short amount of time"
We have had many people just drop in' when they saw the centre when passing by and word of mouth has obviously played its part.
We have been evaluating by giving out a questionnaire asking clients what they thought of the service. Some of the comments received are below: "Relaxed atmosphere, laid back but professional"
"They go that extra mile for you"
"If you're serious about looking for work they'll do anything to help"
"I'd have been lost without it"
Y's Up staff are very encouraged by the positive comments made and hope that more and more people are able to tap into such a useful local resource.
In August Y's Up was audited for the Matrix Standard and was successful in achieving re-accreditation. This will enable Y's Up to provide this great level of advice and guidance and our facilities for another 3 years.
