DETAILED plans and designs for the new £40 million Halton Hospital and wellbeing campus are being unveiled at two public meetings.
The hospital in Runcorn is set to be demolished after state-of-the-art facilities are built in an extension at the neighbouring Cheshire and Merseyside Treatment Centre.
The ambitious proposal forms the centrepiece of the Halton Healthy New Town project, one of only 10 in the UK.
The hospital's chief executive Mel Pickup and Lindsey Maloney of North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will present the latest plans, designs, details of the transfer of services into treatment centre.
Proposed construction dates of the extension and wellbeing campus will also be outlines.
Patients, staff and members of the public are invited to meetings at Halton Hospital's education centre on Thursday, March 22 at 10am and Tuesday, April 3 at 5pm.
Places are limited so pre-registration is encouraged – email whh.communications@nhs.net to register.
Anyone unable to attend who would like to submit a question should email their questions to whh.communications@nhs.net.
The designs, complete with phasing of the hospital and campus construction creation, have been drawn up by architect Gilling Dodd commissioned by Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS FT, owner of the Halton hospital site.
