WHY is it that every year the borough’s remembrance parade is held in Widnes at 11am and 3pm in Runcorn?
Is it not possible for Halton’s dignitaries to alternate between the two towns each year?
I attend Runcorn Cenotaph each year at 11am, as do many others – 3pm is not the time for remembrance on Remembrance Sunday.
I and many others feel very strongly that there should be an official parade at Runcorn Cenotaph at 11am.
Or do the veterans from Runcorn not rank as highly in the minds of our mayor and councillors as those from Widnes?
If the parade in Widnes is for all of our borough then alternating the service between towns should not be a problem.
