A FLAIR for fashion has landed a creative Runcorn man his dream job.
Danyul Brown is only 22 yet he is already turning heads in London as an acclaimed celebrity stylist.
He has styled Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing for various fashion shoots.
He recently created a fresh new look for musician Conor Maynard at this year’s Brit Awards.
His work has been featured on the covers and inside top fashion magazines.
Former Halton High School pupil, Danyul, from Murdishaw, said: “It’s something I love doing.
“It doesn’t feel like work.”
He studied graphic design, art and media at Priestley College in Warrington and specialised in fashion at Middlesex University.
He discovered his hidden talent for styling after completing a six-week internship with legendary Alexander McQueen.
He now specialises in men’s fashion, matching singers, actors and stars with the latest looks from the country’s top designers.
Keeping abreast of current trends and nurturing contacts he said, is very demanding.
Danyul said: “Forget about the glamorous side of the industry, you’ve got to prepared to work seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
“You constantly have a phone in one hand and a laptop in the other one.
“You have to have the drive and be determined to do it.”
You also have to be patient and persuasive, he said, to cajole clients to try new ideas.
He said: “You have to sell it to the client, persuade them that this is the right move.
“You’ve got to have a good way with words, really know the industry and what trends are current.
“You have to focus on getting that outfit on that artist or model and making sure they are happy with it.”
He still comes home to spend time with his mum, Mary, but has his sights set across the Atlantic.
He added: “London is where everything is happening but eventually I’d like to see myself living in Los Angeles or New York.”
