A WIDNES man is due to appear at Runcorn Magistrates Court today charged with attempted murder.
Warren Flaherty, aged 49, of Greenway Road, Widnes was charged with affray, attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
The victim, a 41-year-old woman, suffered stab wounds on Saturday.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 5.34pm on Saturday, November 8, Cheshire Police were called to the report of an assault on Lower Appleton Road, Widnes.
“On arrival, officers found a 41-year-old woman with injuries consistent with being caused by a knife.
“She was transferred to hospital where she remains in a stable but poorly condition.”
