TWO lawns surrounding Runcorn War Memorial will be rededicated as gardens of remembrance next week.
A short service of dedication will take place on Monday, November 3 at 2pm and anyone wanting to place British Legion remembrance crosses is welcome to attend.
Members of The Royal British Legion, Halton District and Widnes District, will be holding services of remembrance on Sunday, November 9.
The Widnes service will be held at the War Memorial in Victoria Park with the civic procession assembling at 10.05am on Lockett Road – Peel House Lane side of the park gates – and will move off at 10.35am to arrive at the War Memorial at 10.45am.
The Runcorn service will be held at the Cenotaph on Greenway Road with the civic procession assembling St Michael’s Church on Greenway Road at 2.30pm before moving off at 2.45pm to arrive at the Cenotaph at 3pm.
The Royal British Legion is asking everyone to observe a two minute silence on Armistice Day, Tuesday, November 11 at 11am.
