A RUNCORN project management and engineering business celebrated a double triumph last year.
Projen, from Preston Brook, was named Business of the Year and won the top award for Positive Environmental Impact.
Sales and marketing manager Shane Pugh, aged 48, said:”We were thrilled to get external recognition. To win two was fantastic.
“You can’t put a price on third party endorsement.
“When someone from outside your organisation recognises your achievement, it is really great.”
Their success motivated them to enter and win a prestigious Bioprocessing Award at the Institution of Chemical Engineers Awards in 2013 and inspired them to expand.
The management owned business, which employs 110 people, continues to flourish.
Mr Pugh added: “We have grown the bio energy side of the business quite significantly.
“To receive an independent assessment is a pat on the back for everyone.
“We had never made products before but winning these awards spurred us to create two new products.”
