A RUNCORN mum who has helped young people to discover their creative skills has won a top award.
Fashion journalist Caz Moss faced an uncertain future after the company she worked for closed.
Looking after her one-year-old daughter, Annabel, she decided to launch her own business.
With help from the Prince’s Trust in 2010 she created The Style Factory, a community interest company which uses fashion to unleash people’s potential.
Entrepreneur Caz, aged 26, was crowned winner in the new business category of the 2013 Enterprise Vision Awards which celebrate the achievements of women in business across the north west.
Caz, of Picton Avenue, said: “I’m so thrilled to have won. I would like to show other mums who are struggling to adapt to the huge life changes of having children that there is a way to balance your work, your passions and your children.
“I believe that life will always throw us challenges but there is a way round everything and that if you believe in yourself and your abilities you can achieve anything you set out to.”
Caz has set up a new studio workshop inHigh Street, Runcorn offering craft workshops for young people and adults.
She also organises courses and events to give schoolchildren practical experience of the fashion industry.
The awards were founded by networking group Pink Ladies who have carved themselves a solid reputation within the business community.
The ceremony was attended by more than 500 guests including leading businesses.
It was hosted by double 2012 winner, Isla Wilson of Ruby Star Associates.
