PARTY leaders David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband are backing the Runcorn and Widnes Word’s campaign to bring jobs to Halton.
This exciting new initiative, called Action 4 Jobs, will be officially launched in next week’s paper and aims to give you all the information and inspiration you need to get the job you want.
Our new dedicated recruitment section will help bring together employers and education providers to help people find work and develop career opportunities.
Our news team will be focusing on the local jobs market and showcasing career and training opportunities available in Runcorn and Widnes.
Prime Minister David Cameron said: "This is a fantastic initiative by the World to help people who want to work hard and get on. Our economy is on the mend, but there is still more to do as we move from rescue to recovery. By bringing together employers, colleges and business groups at a local level, people can hear about new opportunities, share experiences and progress at every stage of their career."
Ed Miliband MP, Labour’s Leader, said: “Action 4 Jobs is a brilliant campaign. This initiative will hopefully get more people in work at a time when opportunities are not easy to come by. There is a generation of young people currently feeling let down. By promoting businesses, schools and colleges and boosting the number of apprenticeships on offer, this campaign could help get the local economy back on track.
World editor Hayley Smith said: “By working with key stakeholders such as councils, colleges and local employers we hope Action 4 Jobs will provide the information and guidance people need to get the jobs of their choice.
“We have also launched a number of initiatives to try to stimulate more jobs in the area too – so check out our recruitment section for further information.”
Don’t miss next week’s World for the start of Action 4 Jobs.
