A NEW health watchdog has been created.
Heathwatch Halton will enable residents across Runcorn and Widnes to get the best out of their local health and social care services.
This non-for-profit social enterprise is being launched at a public meeting on Friday, July 5, from 10am to 12.15pm at The Select Stadium.
Widnes-born chairman Jim Wilson said: “It will give Halton residents a voice.
“It is all about local people being able to influence the delivery and design of local services.
“We will provide information and signposting to help people make choices.
“We will act as advocates and put patients’ experiences into the planning processes.”
Mr Wilson was chairman of NHS Halton & St Helens Primary Care Trust and worked in social care and health at Halton Council before he retired.
He will work alongside directors and an elected management committee which reflects the diverse range of voluntary and community groups.
Anyone wishing to attend the launch is asked to call 0300 777 6543 or e-mail enquiries@healthwatchhalton.co.uk to confirm your place.
