A RUNCORN shopping centre is being given a £3 million re-vamp.
A major external repairs programme is transforming the 1970s fascia with new cladding.
The massive renovation has used 1500 sq mtr of terracotta tiles, 500 sq mtr of panels, 50,000 screws, and 125 tonnes of render.
After 32,500 man hours, the new look is slowly being revealed.
A spokesman for contractors Williams Tarr said: “It should be remembered that the shopping centre is now forty years old and it is a big project to undertake these essential repairs works, as the overall size of the scheme is so large.”
Lettings agent Kenney Moore has been appointed to work alongside McMullen Wilson to attract new retailers.
A Halton Lea spokesman said: “We are very excited about these new developments. The external repair programme will give Halton Lea a modern look and feel and provide a better overall experience for our customers.
“Through this investment, and with the appointment of Kenney Moore, we are confident that we can attract an even greater variety of tenants to the centre and have had strong interest from both national retailers, including well-known fashion brands, and local independent traders.”
