SONERSON nee Joyce Rita Christina Sonerson (nee Joyce) Rita Christina wife of the late Stanley 'Ron' Sonerson, peacefully passed away in The Countess of Chester Hospital on Sunday 8th January 2023 aged 85 years. Rita will be deeply missed by all her loving family and friends who have many memories to cherish. Rita was born in Ballina, County Mayo, Eire in 1938 and came to live in Warrington with her family in the 1940s. Her funeral mass took place on Saturday 4th February 2023 here at St. Muredach's Cathedral in Ballina followed by Burial at Leigue Cemetery also in Ballina. The funeral was attended by Immediate family and also the Joyce family of Ballina and residents of Lord Edward Street where Rita was born. The family would like to thank friends, neighbours and extended family in UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and world wide for their messages, cards, flowers, prayers, kindness and hospitality in Ireland. Thanks goes to Helen Horne Funeral Director's of Warrington, Hemsell of Nottingham Repatriation service, Healy's Funeral Director of Ballina. Father Kieran Holmes and Father Anthony Gillespie of St. Muredach's Cathedral. Please note a Month's Mind Mass, for Rita, is to be held at St. Stephen's Church, Sandy Lane, Warrington WA2 9HS on Friday 3rd March, 2023 at 6pm Donations to be given to PMRGCA.UK (Giant Cell Arteritis)

Rita you were an aunty and sister-in-law to us. Fond memories to look back on especially our annual holidays to Southport when we were kids. Sadie is missing you. She enjoyed the phone calls, you were always kind and fun to chat to. Rest in peace, love from Sadie, Bobby and Stephanie

Dearest Rita, you are at rest now with my brother Stan. You leave me with lovely wonderful memories of the time we spent in Melbourne with you and Stan travelling from Warrington and myself from Auckland.
