A MAN was taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury following a collision.

Emergency services attended Deacon Road in Widnes on Friday afternoon following reports of the incident.

On arrival at around 4pm, crews found that the rider of an electric bike was involved in a collision.

No other vehicles are thought to be involved and the cyclist was taken to hospital by paramedics.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 4pm on Friday, April 19, police were called to reports of a collision on Deacon Road, Widnes.

“Officers attended the scene and found that a man riding an electric bike had come off his bike.

“It is not believed that any other vehicles were involved in the incident.

“The cyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Aintree Hospital.

“His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.”

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed that a man was taken to hospital with a head injury following a call at 3.53pm.
