FIREFIGHTERS from 10 fire stations across Cheshire were dispatched to tackle a large fire involving pallets overnight.
The blaze broke out at a pallet yard at a business on Northwich Road in Preston Brook at around 11pm yesterday, Monday.
Fire engines from Runcorn, Frodsham and Chester fire stations attended, as well as the aerial ladder platform from Lymm Fire Station.
Relief crews from Penketh, Winsford, Powey Lane, Macclesfield, Congleton and Birchwood fire stations were also utilised.
The fire involving pallets and materials required four fire engines to attend initially.
The aerial ladder platform was then called to fight the flames from above, and the fire was sectorised to allow crews to extinguish it.
Two main water jets and hose reels were used along with a thermal imaging camera. A forklift truck removed undamaged pallets and products from the area.
By 8.30am this morning, water run-off was being managed at the commercial premises.
Firefighters remain at the scene to damp down hot spots of the fire.
