A CAR fire led to a road being closed in Widnes on Saturday morning (April 16).
The incident happened at around 11am when a car went up in flames on Lunts Heath Road.
One appliance from Penketh Fire Station was sent to the scene, while colleagues from Cheshire Police were also in attendance.
Although the road was closed for a short period of time to allow for the flames to be put out, the fire was soon under control.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were called to a car on fire in Lunts Heath Road, Widnes.
"A firefighter using breathing apparatus and one hose reel put the fire out, before the vehicle was made safe.
"A full road closure was in place while the incident was dealt with."
