FIREFIGHTERS attended a vehicle fire on a road in Widnes for around two hours this morning.
At 5.20am firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle being on fire on a road in Bower Street.
On arrival, the crew discovered that no one was inside the pick-up truck, a Ford Ranger.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets and one of the firefighters was wearing breathing apparatus.
Once the fire was out, firefighters damped the Ford Ranger down to make it safe.
A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor temperatures and firefighters left the scene once they were satisfied that the vehicle was safe.
No one is believed to have been injured as a result of the fire.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a faulty battery.
